When you donate to the Peace Diamonds Restoration Initiative, you make a commitment to communities around former artisanal diamond mining sites.
Artisanal miners do the work of unearthing diamonds to earn a living in difficult circumstances. Unfortunately, when the digging is finished, the pits left behind degrade the land, making it unusable for basic farming. And when water fills the pits, it can lead to disease and other safety risks, such as drowning. Local communities suffer as a result.
Your donation enables these communities to move on and restore their land to its pre-mined condition. Rehabilitated landscapes save lives, reduce hunger, and promote economic growth through alternative livelihoods. Together, we can heal the land and help communities.
